Hospitalisation

At Whisker & Woof, we understand how stressful it can be when your pet needs to stay in hospital. Our priority is to ensure that both you and your pet feel supported and cared for throughout the process.

Comfortable, Safe Accommodation

Our hospital facilities are designed to provide a calm, hygienic, and secure environment for pets who need to stay with us.

  • Separate Dog and Cat Wards – Dogs and cats are housed in separate, purpose-built areas to reduce stress.
  • Climate-Controlled Kennels – Each kennel area is temperature-controlled to keep your pet warm and comfortable
  • Soft Bedding and Clean Surroundings – We use soft, hygienic bedding, changed regularly to maintain comfort and cleanliness.

Dedicated Isolation Ward

For pets with infectious or contagious conditions, we have a fully equipped isolation ward. This allows us to safely provide barrier nursing, keeping other patients and staff protected while still giving your pet attentive, compassionate care.

Monitoring and Care

Our veterinary team monitors all hospitalised patients closely. Depending on your pet’s condition, they may receive:

  • Intravenous fluids and medications
  • Pain relief and supportive care
  • Oxygen therapy and advanced monitoring (if required)
  • Regular physical examinations and reassessments

You will be updated regularly throughout the day regarding your pet’s progress, and we will contact you promptly if there are any changes to their condition or treatment plan.

Visiting Your Pet

Where possible, we encourage visits from owners during hospitalisation, as seeing a familiar face can be reassuring for pets. We will work with you to arrange a time that fits around your pet’s treatment schedule.

Overnight and Out-of-Hours Care

After-hours care is provided by our trusted out-of-hours provider, Medivet Beckenham, located just a short drive away. Should your pet require continued monitoring overnight, we will coordinate their transfer and provide full clinical handover to Medivet Beckenham. Hospitalisation during daytime hours would be managed by the Whisker & Woof clinical team. Transport to and from their facility is the responsibility of the pet owner.
