Jason Way BVetMed CertSAM MRCVS is the Founder, Director, and Head Veterinary Surgeon of Whisker & Woof, the independent small animal practice on Lee Road in Blackheath. With close to three decades of clinical experience, Jason set out to build a practice that puts clinical judgement, transparency, and genuine care for animals ahead of everything else.

He built Whisker & Woof to be a new kind of veterinary practice — one that stands for trust and clarity, looks ahead to prevent problems before they arise, and treats every pet as it would its own. That vision shapes everything the practice does.

His clinical interests lie in small animal medicine, reflected in his RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine (CertSAM), and in pain management — a commitment that led Whisker & Woof to become the first practice in London to achieve Zero Pain Philosophy accreditation. Under his direction, the practice also holds RCVS Small Animal Practice accreditation and ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Practice status, marks of a consistently high standard of care.

For Jason, practising veterinary medicine the right way means being unhurried, honest, and building trust between vet and owner. He takes the time to understand each client and forge a genuine connection, knowing that good care depends as much on the relationship as the clinical work. Staying independent lets him keep that promise, with the freedom and space to make every decision in the animal’s best interest. Above all, Jason believes the team are the practice’s greatest asset — a dedicated group including practice manager and registered veterinary nurse Laura, head veterinary nurse Melissa, registered veterinary nurses Amy and Libby, and receptionist Corinne. Together they endeavour to provide the very highest standards of clinical excellence and client care.
