Whisker & Woof RCVS Small Animal Practice
ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Practice
What RCVS Accreditation and ISFM Cat Friendly Status Mean for You and Your Pet
At Whisker & Woof, we know your pets are more than animals – they’re family. That’s why we go above and beyond to provide the highest standards of care. But what does “highest standard” really mean? Two accreditations demonstrate this:
- The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme
- The International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status
Here’s what these recognitions mean for you and your beloved companions.
RCVS Practice Standards Accreditation: Why It Matters
The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary program that allows veterinary practices to demonstrate their commitment to quality care. By achieving accreditation as an RCVS Small Animal Practice, we’ve met rigorous standards set by the governing body of UK veterinary professionals.
How This Benefits You
- Clinical Excellence
Accreditation means our practice is regularly inspected and held to the highest standards in cleanliness, safety, and clinical protocols. Whether it’s a routine vaccination or complex surgery, you can trust that your pet is receiving exceptional care. - Highly Trained Team
Our veterinary team takes part in continuous professional development, ensuring they’re always up to date with the latest advances in veterinary medicine. - State-of-the-art Facilities
From the very best diagnostic equipment to modern surgical instruments, we’re equipped to provide advanced treatments in-house. - Transparency and Trust
Accreditation isn’t a one-time achievement – it’s an ongoing commitment. It demonstrates that we prioritize your pet’s well-being and always strive to improve.
ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic: Tailored Care for Feline Friends
If you’re a cat owner, you know that cats are often misunderstood. They’re sensitive creatures with specific needs – especially in unfamiliar environments. That’s why Whisker & Woof has worked hard to achieve Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).
What This Means for Cats
- A Stress-Free Experience
Veterinary visits can be tough on cats. From the moment they arrive, our cat-only waiting section helps minimize stress by keeping them away from dogs and other animals. - Feline-Focused Handling
Our team understands cat behavior and is trained in gentle handling techniques, ensuring that your cat is treated with care and respect. - Cat-Specific Facilities
We have a quiet, dedicated cat ward with bespoke “cat condos” where they can climb, hide and have access to all their resources away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the clinic. We’ve designed our whole clinic with feline needs in mind. - The Highest Standards of Care
We meet the very best standards in surgery, dentistry, diagnostics and our in-house laboratory. - Cat Advocate
Melissa Barnett is our dedicated ISFM “cat advocate”, responsible for implementing and maintaining the Cat Friendly clinic standards.
Why These Accreditations Set Us Apart
Not every veterinary clinic chooses to undergo the rigorous process of accreditation. At Whisker & Woof, we believe it’s worth the extra effort because it reflects our values: outstanding veterinary care, compassion, and dedication.
For our dog and cat clients alike, these accreditations mean you’re choosing a practice that’s been rigorously assessed for quality care by respected industry leaders.
Thank you to our wonderful Team
A huge thank you to all our staff at Whisker & Woof for this huge achievement in gaining both these veterinary accreditations. It really was a monumental team effort in ensuring all our facilities, staff and processes met the highest standards we could possibly provide. Special mentions go to Laura and Jodie for all their extra work getting us to pass our RCVS Accreditation, and to Melissa who implemented our ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinic Award! Thank you so much and well done!
What’s Next for Whisker & Woof?
Our commitment to excellence doesn’t stop here. We’re always looking for new ways to improve our services, upgrade our facilities, and provide even better care for the pets and people who rely on us. We are looking at obtaining further RCVS awards in specific areas of veterinary practice – watch this space!
Whether you’re visiting us for the first time or you’ve been part of the Whisker & Woof family since we opened, we’re here to support you and your pet every step of the way.
